Pediatricians have traditionally advised parents against allowing their children to sleep in the same bed with them. A new school of thought, however, is that sharing a bed with a child does not do any harm and helps the child to feel more secure. Parents' narratives and suggested books are included.

Too much of a good thing?

Children with ear infections should not automatically be given broad spectrum antibiotics as treatment. Antibiotic usage should be carefully considered since too much can cause the development of resistant microbes. A list of common antibiotics, their uses, and their side effects are given.

Parenting practices are one of the major factors that have an effect on child aggression. Parents who are cold and rejecting, discipline their kids inconsistently and are violent in their own relationships are apt to raise aggressive children.
