Long trips can be boring, but they can be made livelier through road games. Ten simple games that can be played while traveling are presented. Ways of putting together a family journal of vacation memories and easy exercises that can be done inside the car are also provided.

The sick-in-bed blues

Sick children become withdrawn at the onset of illness, but parents should work to relieve boredom by creating play which can be done in bed. Attention spans may be shorter, so games should be easier than what the child usually chooses to participate in.
