When its not ok to kid a kid

Teasing children can be constructive when it diffuses aggressive behavior but it can also be detrimental when done without consideration for the child's social well being. Teasing should not be done in public, should not be about sensitive topics and should be done in moderation.

Raising a resilient child

There are several ways parents can help their children to develop resilience in the face of tough experiences. Objective thinking should be encouraged over negative thinking, and children should be taught to learn from their mistakes instead of dwelling on failure.
