Neutrality and the religion clauses
Article Abstract:
The US Supreme Court's neutrality standard for the separation of church and state issues undermines actual governmental neutrality and benefits mainstream religions. The proper approach is to employ a jurisprudence that protects interdenominational non-favoritism and allows governments to interact with religious organizations and accomodate their free exercise rights. A standard such as the Court's demands total state neutrality and forces governments not distinguish between state and religious programs, effectually subsidizing organized religion's promotion of their messages.
