The intoxicating eighteenth-century world of rockling adventures and dissolute aristocrats, of watchful chaperones and predatory beaux, of innocence preserved or defiled are devilishly evoked in the works of Laclos and Thackeray and are set to enliven the princely splendors of the Wrightsman Galleries at the Metropolitan Museum. An exhibition is held showing French portraits.

The life of Janine Janet, the famous sculptor, who designed for big brands like Dior, Hermes in the mid 1960's is discussed. Janine created designs for Pierre Frey and Cristofle and came to the attention of the smart society when the Paris-based American literary hostess Nancy Bradley asked her to decorate her apartment.
