Article Abstract:

The work is presented of out a way to secure the applique by stitching through a tear-away template that is an alternative to standard embellishment technique. Steps to supple applique such as layer the fabrics and templates, free-motion stitch through all the layers, tearing off the template and trim the applique edges are presented.

Article Abstract:

The intricate and beautiful appliques that characterize traditional, Hawaiian style quilts reveal both sophisticated eye for design and talent. The wives of missionaries probably brought Applique techniques to Hawaii, but Hawaiian women were the ones who came up with the idea of enlarging a single applique to cover a bed-size quilt.
