Optimistic Pattern for 1980s
Article Abstract:
All indications are that there will be a large increase in demand for mortgage financing in 1984. New home starts are predicted to exceed one and a half million this year. Mortgage lenders can breathe a sigh of relief that the unfortunate trends of the previous few years are over. None-the-less there are a few problems. Consumers are leary of the dozens of new mortgage instruments in the market. These instruments in turn have created an awful paperwork overload as well as a dirth of trained personnel in the mortgage loan industry. Mortgage lenders must face these problems with the same kind of innovative attitude that created the innovative financing. Customer education and competitive awareness are the stepping stones of the future.
