Cabernet Franc is being taken more seriously in California although it will never rival Cabernet Sauvignon. Greater appreciation of this Bordeaux variety has resulted in more and better planting producing a wine of more depth.

Wine-lists in restaurants have improved over the years, but there are still areas in 2001 where things could be improved. Occasionally service can be poor and the prices of wine and corkage can be expensive.
