Burgundy in 2010

Article Abstract:

The new legislation enables winemakers to boost weak red Burgundies by blending them with Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other wines imported from southern France or other vineyards in the country. Such practices were used to be punishable by jail sentences and large fines, and to avoid confusion with traditional burgundies, the blended burgundies are sold under a new name, such as 'Vins de Cepage de France'.

Article Abstract:

Bordeaux is the site of the Vinexpo every two years. The 11th Vinexpo held in 2001 had approximately 54,000 visitors from 130 countries. The article reviewed the highlights of the exhibition.
