Pesquera owner is bullish on new estate
Article Abstract:
Pesquera owner Alejandro Fernandez has declared he will combine winemaking with raising bull for the ring at the 1,780-acre property he purchased in Zamora, Spain. Fernandez, who also owns Condado de Haza, said he will plant Tempranillo, Spain's stalwart red wine grape, at the estate and has hired a popular matador, Roberto Dominguez, to supervise the bulls. Fernandez hopes to complete planting 500 acres of Tempranillo within four years but he expects to start making wine in 1998 on an experimental basis using locally-purchased wine.
