California Pinot Noir is grown since the early 1800s, but only in the 1990s the quality and popularity skyrocketed, arriving in a grand, sweeping and luxurious way. Three factors have driven this revolution, new AVAs, new clones and ripe fruit, due to which many winemakers have created a distinctively Californian style of Pinot Noir.
