Collector's vintage in the Rhone

The world's most diverse wine regions, starting at the town of Vienne, the Rhone Valley provide powerful and good quality of red and exotic wines. The Southern Rhone vintners have produced excellent wines, whereas in Northern Rhone a drop in the production and high demand represent once in a lifetime opportunity for collectors.

Success squeezes Chateauneuf-du-Pape: Pressure to sell vineyards is high, but not all buyers are welcome

A series of exceptional vintages and critical and financial success have increased the demand for vineyards in Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Although wine companies are willing to buy the lands at escalated prices, the local vignerons are unwilling to sell to outside investors and growers with a speculative attitude.

Results from an online poll are given in pie chart format, with respondant's comments. The majority had spent more than $100 on a bottle of wine at a retail shop and at a restaurant. Most respondents had spent between $101-$150 for wine at auction.
