Article Abstract:
Wines specific to Argentina and Chile are presented, namely Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon respectively. Types of traditional Chilean Cabernets are discussed, while particular attention is given to the less well-known Carmenere and Malbec wines of Argentina.

South America sees boom in outside investors

The South American wine industry has seen an increase in foreign investment in 2001. Wineries from France and elsewhere are establishing joint ventures with local wineries in Argentina and Chile lured by cheaper prices for land and labor.
