Fronsac vintners pool talents to battle lackluster image
Article Abstract:
Fronsac, is not nearly as well-known as other Bordeaux appellations, so a group of 10 vintners have gotten together to promote their wines. The group wants the public to known that Fronsac wines have improved greatly over the last several years and are a bargain.

California vintners struggle to preserve genetic heritage of historic vineyards
Article Abstract:
Root louse phylloxera has Sonoma County's Seghesio Winery struggling to preserve the Italian Sangiovese grapes planted by Edoardo Seghesio in 1910. Heritage Zinfandel is being painstakingly grown at Dry Creek Vineyard. Old age is also affecting some vineyards.

Many vintners in California and Europe face late-ripening grapes
Article Abstract:
The 1995 vintage may be small but good in California, due to weather conditions and a late harvest. The 1995 Burgundy may be good, and Bordeaux white grapes are excellent. Bordelais, Italy, Spain and Germany harvests are also discussed.
