It is difficult to find a good, reasonably priced restaurant in London, but France offers many gastronomic delights with wine at a affordable prices. These include the Bistro de Sommelier in Bergheim in Alsace, Juveniles in Paris, Lion d'Or in Margaux, and others.

Is public opinion on Bordeaux turning?

The market for top red Bordeaux wines is strong, with the 1997 reds selling for 20% more than the 1996 vintage. The opinion of the buying public could change because of vintner greed, however. A recent wine scandal is discussed.
