Ingredients mix proves fruitful for Danisco

A 14% rise in sales to DKr9.5 billion was achieved in the first half of 1997 to 1998 by Danish drink, food and packaging concern Danisco. Sales were up by 43% to DKr1.1 billion at Danisco Foods, boosted by the purchase of Dutch frozen food concern Fri d'Or. Sales rose by 27% to DKr1.7 billion at Danisco Ingredients, with the purchase of UK concern Borthwicks accounting for 7%. Observers believe that Danisco is likely to dispose of non-core operations, but not in the near future.

Danisco improves overall sales and profits
Article Abstract:
Danisco of Denmark, a food and packaging group, reported sales up by 11% in 1994-95, with 65% coming from outside of Denmark. Pre-tax profit also rose by 29% helped by new marketing strategies, acquisitions and increased production capacity. Food and beverages represented 2.5 billion DKr of overall sales, a fall of 5%, and Danisco Foods, a merger between Frigodan and Taffel Foods, recorded sales of 1.3 billion DKr.

Danisco invests in China
Article Abstract:
Danisco of Denmark, a food group, is investing in a food ingredients factory in China. Building will start in June 1996 and when complete the factory will produce emulsifiers, employing about 100 staff. It is the first overseas company to set up a food ingredients factory in China.
