New rules will recognize Chianti Vino da Tavola

Article Abstract:

The proposed rules that will govern the manufacture of wines in the Chianti Classico area of Italy are expected to enhance the quality of the product. Among the recommended regulations are the increase in the proportion of certain grape varieties in the wine and imposition of overproduction fines.

Sassicaia: the original upscale vino da tavola is still among the greatest

Nicolo Incisa della Rochetta's Tenuta San Guido began making excellent Cabernet blend reds in 1968 in Italy's Bolgheri region. Sassicaiai was the first vino da tavola to capture the imagination of of international wine lovers.
