On the use of path analysis and related procedures for the investigation of ecological problems
Article Abstract:
Path analysis is one of the most viable methods for the study of complex multivariate relationships, especially for ecological systems. Path modeling approaches can estimate path coefficients and the commonality among data sets, as well as enable a comparison between expectations and data. However, they can only extract the information available in the data being analyzed. These were gleaned from a reconstruction of their covariance matrices and the use of structural equation modeling to conduct multigroup analysis and to compare predicted and observed mice densities.
