The bad boy of California wine
Article Abstract:
Fred Franzia, the CEO of Bronco Wine Co., proved the general notion that the California wine industry cannot cater to the low-end of the market, wrong in 2003 by selling wines under the Charles Shaw label for less than $2 a bottle that have become hugely popular among thrifty wine drinkers. Despite faced with legal hurdles regarding Napa-labeled brands, he is one of the largest buyers and sellers of California bulk wine.
