Preliminary tastings of the 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon indicate that the vintage will not be an across-the-board success. Unusually cool weather made it difficult for grapes to ripen properly. However, certain wines of the vintage show complexity and polish. A guide to 1998 Cabernet and rating of 1978-1998 Cabernet are included.
