Kerry Murphy, co-owner of the Russian River Valley-based DuMol does not ascribe to the concept of single-vineyard wines, believing a lot of such wines get one-dimensional. DuMol made four blended Pinot Noirs in the 2004 vintage from eight properties in the region, most of them in the Green Valley appellation in which DuMol also has a 27-acre estate vineyard planted to Pinot, Chardonnay and Syrah.

Charles Bieler decided to come out of California's wine industry with some of the best ideas inspired to sell wine in 1-litre tetra packs, which could be immediately consumed by Americans clamoring for the same. More young guys like Bieler can meet the idea of tetra pack audience for wines that deliver flavors without being intimidated.
