Traverso, Wente make Bordeaux blends

Article Abstract:

Traverso and Wente have created a new winery called Murrieta's Well and will market Bordeaux-style red and whites wine under the proprietary name Vendimia. The wines will sell for $20 to $25 a bottle. Ingredients in both the red and white blends are given.

Chianti comes to California

More and more renowned winemakers in California are experimenting with the Sangiovese grape, one of the varieties which make up the Chianti. The typically dark red Sangiovese's most outstanding characteristic is its light-bodiedness.

Seghesio goes upscale with old-vine reds

Article Abstract:

Seghesio, which has been making wine since the first part of the century, discovered 75-year-old grapes used to make traditional Chianti. The winery's vintners have created a Chianti-style wine that will sell for about $30.
