A wide range of 1993 Bordeaux wines are available, offering drinkable and delicious alternatives to higher-priced 1989, 1990 and 1995 vintages. Selections from 1993 include La Mission-Haut-Brion ($35), Cos-d'Estournel ($25), Montrose ($28), Pichon-Longueville-Baron ($25), and Armailhac ($19).

The taste of money in St.-Emilion

Jean-Luc Thunevin and his wife Murielle run a small winery in Bordeaux's St-Emilion appellation. Early 1990s vintages of Chateau de Valandraud are selling for about $1,000 a bottle. Thunevin's background in winemaking and his wines are discussed.
