Why can't burgundy lighten up?
Article Abstract:
The wine from the Burgundy region of France is compared to products from California's vineyards which produce excellent Pinot Noir. The Burgundies being produced in recent years have become too heavy and harsh to the palate. The reasons may lie in the weather or in the recipes.

Getting b-o-r-e-d with white Burgundy
Article Abstract:
Several 1989 white Burgundies evaluated in a blind tasting were found to be seriously lacking in character. Even the extremely expensive Bouchard Pere & Fils' Montrachet was mediocre. Four Corton-Charlemagnes were among the few decent wines tasted.
