Cotes de Castillion is now among the top ten wine regions in France. An investigation of wine-producing in the area reveals that it now produces some of Bordeaux'ss most affordable wines.

Article Abstract:

1988, 1989, and 1990 Bordeaux vintages are excellent, each for different reasons. 1988 was a dry year, but summer temperatures were moderate. 1989 was nearly a textbook case for perfect viticulture. 1990 saw the vine buds boosting later than in the previous year.

Nineteen ninety-seven promises to be as successful a vintage for Bordeaux wines as 1995 and 1996. These last two years were both characterized by mild winters, early flowering of vines and early harvests.
