Can cervical dysplasia and cancer be prevented with nutrients?
Article Abstract:
Results from the third phase of folic acid and B-carotene chemoprevention trials have shown a negative response in cervical carcinogenesis infected with oncogenic-type human papillomaviruses. Significant improvement of cervical lesions was observed only in the retinoic acid trial. Studies of dosage and duration of treatment are needed to demonstrate significant lesion improvement.
