Amec cashes in FM venture
Article Abstract:
Venture capital firm CVC Capital Partners has purchased facilities management concern Building and Property Management Services (BPMS) from Amec and consultant Pell Frischmann. This is part of reorganisation plans at Amec following the failed takeover in 1995 by Norwegian contractor Kvaerner. BPMS, which was created in 1993 as a joint venture operation, has been valued at 84.6 million pounds sterling.

Thed computer allows building engineers to troubleshoot heating, ventilation, and air conditioning problems in less than five minutes after detection. The computer can activate a voice modem to tell an engineer about specific problems.
