Total nutrient intake and ready-to-eat cereal consumption of children and young adults in the Bogalusa heart study

Article Abstract:

Ready-to-eat (RTE) cereals are effective to meet the nutritional requirements of children and young adults, as determined by the Bogalusa heart study, in the population of Bogalusa, Louisiana. More nutrients and vitamins are available by individuals consuming the RTE cereals. RTE cereals when taken with milk are more effective because of the extra calcium and magnesium obtained from milk.
