Novel tools to reduce seabird bycatch in coastal gillnet fisheries

Seabird bycatch in coastal fishery gillnets can be reduced 70-75% by modifying fishing gear, opening fisheries during peak fish abundance, and restricting fishing at specific times of day. Gear modifications include visual and acoustic alerts.
