'It's What's Inside that Counts' is a self-guided grocery store tour workbook ideal for those who do not have enough time to participate in actual tours or nutrition classes. The manual emphasizes US Dietary Guidelines, Food Guide Pyramid, Nutrition Facts label and supermarket purchasing strategies. The workbook is designed to help consumers identify healthy foods, environment-friendly shopping choices and correct number of servings from each food group as well as use nutrition information on labels and packages.

Characteristics of self-employed women

Article Abstract:

The socioeconomic status of self-employed women are studied by using data from the Mar. 1976 and Mar. 1991 Current Population Surveys and Income Supplements. The number of self-employed persons in the industrial sector began to increase in the middle of the 1970s. Their number increased by 74% from 1975 to 1990 as compared to a 33% increase in the total employment. Women made up 24% of the self-employed in 1975 but by 1990, they represented 32% of all the self-employed.
