Lots of lumber, lower demand forecast at WWPA spring meet
Article Abstract:
The Western Wood Products Assn (WWPA) members shared their opinions on lumber use and demand in 1998 during their spring meeting held March 1-3, 1998, in San Francisco, CA. WWPA predicts that house construction would decrease by 2.8% in 1998, fact that would decrease the demand for softwood lumber. Imports of softwood lumber would fluctuate in 1998 and sawmill productivity would be impacted by timber supply situation.
