Export markets targeted by component supplier: manufacturing white oak edge-glued panels, moulder blanks and squares, plant features careful drying and predrying ahead of optimized rough mill
Article Abstract:
Summit Dimension Products LLC manufactures moulder blanks and white oak edge-glued panels for domestic and European cabinet and furniture companies. The Summit rough mill uses a predryer and computer-controlled dry kilns to process 5 mil bd ft of white oak annually. Automated SII Dry Kilns allow the 90x50-ft predryer to control the lumber drying process. The mill's inspection stations mark lumber defects before panel sizing operations take place. The mill uses electronic color-matching systems to produce high-quality edge-glued panels for European markets.
