Plant technology backed by aggressive marketing
Article Abstract:
Boise Cascade Corp's BCI Joist and Versa-Lam Products plant uses an exclusive process to manufacture wood I-joists and laminated veneer lumber (LVL). The White City, OR, plant relies on other Boise Cascade facilities in southern Oregon for parallel-grain plywood blanks and structural plywood. Intracompany sourcing helps to ensure product quality. The company also highly controls marketing and distribution of the plant's output.
