The Whitney Museum is mounting a major respective on the work and influence of architects Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio. Their architectural firm, Diller and Scofidio, is about to begin construction of its first major building, Boston's Institute of Contemporary Art.

What's killing the grapevines of Napa?

Article Abstract:

Wineries in Napa and Sonoma, CA, are suffering the blight of phylloxera, a vermin that ruins grapes. Many growers grafted a rootstock called AXR #1 to the grapevines, which was once thought to fight off phylloxera. New research, however, found AXR #1 ineffective against it.
