Most new mothers experience the blues after childbirth, while 10% of those develop clinical depression and one in 1,000 develop psychosis. Hormones and social customs work together in affecting postpartum depression as demonstrated by the less frequent incidence of the illness in cultures where the new mother is nurtured and cared for for many weeks.

How do you cure a sex addict?

Article Abstract:

Dr. Martin Kafka treats persisent deviant sexual arousal - sex addiction - with serotonin drug therapy. Despite Kafka's acknowledged preeminence in the psychiatry of hypersexuality, it is unclear whether the several patients interviewed are 'cured' by drugs or by Kafka's optimistic, befriending manner.
