Currier & Ives and their popular pictures
Article Abstract:
The first Currier illustration depicted the 1840 fire on the steamboat Lexington. Since then, the prints produced by Currier and his partner Ives, have become collectors' items which can be sold for anywhere from $1,750 to $21,000, depending on subject and condition.

Various racketeering techniques used on vulnerable consumers are presented. These include mailed letters promising easy loans, promises of foreclosure postponement and strangers asking for credit card numbers for a certain marketing survey, among others.
