Article Abstract:

The privatization of postal service may mean business gains, but for the urban poor or the poor in general, it would be a loss of a vital public service. It would also spell loss of good paying jobs such as mail sorting, which, in private industry, is low-paying and non-unionized. These are but a few of the effects of privatization.
