Public reaction to Magic Johnson's disclosure that he has the AIDS virus has been supportive overall. Because Johnson is a popular figure, his status as a carrier of AIDS is somewhat disturbing. Johnson's sexual promiscuity and lack of judgment should not become the object of public admiration.
