Dream catchers

Article Abstract:

The story of a Hispanic couple, immigrants from central Mexico, who came to the United Sates for making a better life for themselves and their children in the land of opportunity are illustrated. Hispanics rate their family well being higher than other groups and about eighty percent of them expect their children to be better than they actually are.

Economic difficulties in China have brought hundreds of illegal refugees to the US. These immigrants borrow large amounts of money for their journey. If repatriated, they face grim punishment from the Chinese government. Despite economic reforms in China, many citizens remain poor.

The rising power we are ignoring

Article Abstract:

China's economic and military improvements are ignored by the United States and the favorable treatment it bestows on the country may backfire on the US. China is a rising superpower compared with Russia and the US government should take steps not to allow China to get too strong.
