Article Abstract:

Margaret and Keith Baldwin appointed Nick Geragi, a kitchen designer to make their new kitchen bigger, brighter and more open after their move to Oregon from their old house in Stamford, Connecticut. Nick designed the space with simple vintage touches in mind, such as the combination of painted and unpainted finishes, glass-fronted cabinetry, carved nooks, and light fixtures and faucets with a turn-of-the-century feel.

The simplicity that lies in the symmetry of the front door which is flanked by identical lights and windows and the passive solar design makes sure that the sunlight warms rooms in the winter and deeps them cool in the summer is discussed.
