'Gulf War Fires' web site offers health-risk info

Article Abstract:

The U.S. Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine (USACHPPM) 'Gulf War Fires' web site, http://usachppm.apgea.army.mil/gwf/entry.asp , helps the Gulf War veterans to assess health risks from their exposure to the smoke. The USACHPPM has gathered the air and soil samples from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia to document the extent of environment pollution from the burning oil wells.

Equal-opportunity care: Women veterans earn high-quality VA health services

Article Abstract:

The United States has more than 1.4 million female veterans and more than 200,000 women on active duty, with greater number in the National Guard and reserves. The Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has increased its emphasis on women's health care and the VA has eight comprehensive health centers focusing on the special needs of women veterans at VA medical facilities.
