A healing birth

Article Abstract:

The Ayala family of Walnut, CA, was despondent when their teenage daughter, Anissa, was diagnosed with leukemia in 1988. They worked hard to find a bone marrow donor, but lack of success led in part to their decision to have another child, in 1990, who ended up being a perfect donor match. Annisa is now healthy.

Article Abstract:

Six-year old Candi Thomas needed a liver transplant but when a donor was found, her mother opted to give the liver to another little boy, Jason Point, who needed it more. A suitable liver was found for Candi later, but during the transplant, doctors found that her own liver could be saved.
