Leaving Lincoln

Article Abstract:

Gary Gordon left the mill town of Lincoln, ME, to follow his dream of being a soldier, and he eventually became a Green Beret and served in the US mission in Somalia. His death in action there brought the town together, and a monument to him was dedicated Jul 23, 1995.

Pomp and circumstance

Article Abstract:

The Kurn Hattin Homes school in Vermont recently held its 100th commencement ceremony. The privately funded residential school teaches children who come from dysfunctional families, and graduates from the school often come back each year for the ceremony.
