The mission of Habitat for Humanity is to make decent and affordable housing available to low-income families. These families must prove real financial need, be able to make a 1% downpayment, have the ability to make mortgage payments and must be willing to give 250 hours of their time working with volunteers in repairing the houses that they will own.

The New Deal on Thanksgiving
Article Abstract:
In 1939 Pres Roosevelt announced that Thanksgiving would be moved from the last Thursday in November to the next-of-last, saying it would lengthen the Christmas shopping season and boost the economy. The ensuing uproar made him change his mind though, and in 1941 Congress moved it to its present date.

Do bankers make good sheep farmers?
Article Abstract:
Former California bankers Joe and Judy Miller have successfully transformed a 19th century farmhouse in Cushing, ME into a sheep farm. The couple now owns about 200 sheeps of different breeds and is planning to move to a bigger farm to accomodate a bigger number of sheeps.
