Doug and Donna Northrup of New Brunswick, Canada, were driving down Mount Washington Road in New Hampshire when the brakes in their Chevy Celebrity failed. After a harrowing minute of narrowly missing cars and pedestrians, they crashed into a dry stream bed with just bruises and a few broken bones.
