Members of the 761st all African-American unit will finally be recognized for their role in the fight against the Germans during World War II. Pres. Clinton will present the Medal of Honor to the surviving relatives of these veterans on Jan. 13, 1997.

Kaziah Hancock's 'portraits of heroes' series had expanded to 14 paintings of soldiers killed in Iraq. Through words and pictures, Hancock learns what the soldiers were like, what they valued and what they meant to those left behind.
