Mark Orsini, an 18-year-old who had developed Guillain-Barre syndrome, an autoimmune reaction that causes paralysis, was determined to finish his graduation from Dartmouth with help from his parents. His parents showed a lot of courage and patience, as they would sit beside him, recite the alphabets until Mark nodded a yes, write the alphabet down then start over and wait for him to nod again.

Joseph Lekuton, who hails from Kenya, is a social studies teacher in a school in United States. He used to invite his students to Kenya to explore the culture and life of Kenyan people. Lekuton's trips inspired some of his students and they decided to undertake charity work for Kenya.
