THIS HARPIST'S JOB IS TO EASE THE PAIN, SOOTHE THE SOUL

Article Abstract:

Death and dying is a subject which often goes untouched within conversations until a crucial point is reached and the topic needs discussion. The dying process is examined through a harpist's view of how to care for someone on their deathbed. The position taken is that of midwifery as well as comforter for the patient while in the last moments. Music provides a familiar, gentle and often soothing atmosphere and helps the dying be at peace in one of the most frightening times of life.
