A question of collar
Article Abstract:
A professor of social geography at Oxford University was commissioned to co-author and edit data yielded by the ethnic question in the 1991 census, by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys. He wrote about the Jewish model, which was white collar, self employed, professionally qualified and surburban. The Hasidic Jewish model was more orthodox and more inner city. The Irish model had a bigger proportion of manual workers, lower educational qualifications, but was a more open model with a larger variety of houshold types and a greater rate of intermarriage.
