The broken child

A mother describes her feelings of frustration about raising her 7-year old autistic child. Feelings of love and sorrow are intertwined as she tries to reach her son. The birth of her twin sons aggravate the child's autism. Gradually, he adapts to life as a big brother.

Children in the US are spending more of their time in day care as more mothers join the work force and parents work longer hours. The work ethic and the work environment need to be redefined to consider the needs of children.
